this show is a model, a reduced version of a reims (september 04) paper installation. the items here consist in a metaphorical machine supposed to spread "comicbook matter" out and around/ the machine is static, its action is purely imaginary. i work on what i call deficient structures, machines that are unable to work, useless mecanisms, paper activities (paper sound system, paper orchestra interpreting paper music, etc.). most of the staged items are "filed" under the idea of models, principles, presentations. systems are miniaturized, exhibited with samples of the components. that's why, whereas in reims it was a full environmental space, here you'll find samples and principles, for i travel by plane this time, so it determines the components i'm able to bring along. hence, the generic aspect of the model.
