The Center of Attention occupies a place at the center of activity, right in the midst of the pull of the forces of social attraction.
The primary point of departure for the piece is the group’s ambition to physically come together and create a shared unity—a whole,
a closed community joined in a circle, a ring that both unites and excludes, turning its back on the surrounding world.

Tobias Sjöberg’s work is often based on and deals with various types of social agreements, that create and replicate specific contexts.
It could be the maintenance or dissolution of a structure, an idea or an identity. He often examines what is happening in situations
when these agreements are transposed and what emotional consequences might be entailed from a social perspective.
Tobias Sjöberg was born in 1979 and is based in Berlin and Stockholm.
